Personal Prayer

It is not the body’s posture, but the heart’s attitude that counts when we pray.  ~ Billy Graham

Note:  I created the below format for myself to pray so there’s both structure and ability to have a personal conversation with God.

Components & Order of My Prayers:

  1.  Thanks & Praise ~ Gratitude for all I have
  2.  Forgiveness / Repentance
  3.  Wisdom / Knowledge / Understanding / Faith / insight
  4.  Integrity
    1. Above all else (beyond job; beyond security; beyond success)
    2. Above all other character traits
  5.  Circumstances:
    1. Not to pray for better circumstances as much as to pray to become a better man;  be better able to adapt and overcome
    2. more wisdom
    3. more skill
    4. More Discipline
  6.  Pray for:
    1. Family & Friends
    2. others
  7.   Strength
    1. To overcome my weaknesses
    2. To develop better skills & better habits
    3. To take captive every thought
    4. More Discipline
  8.   Giving:
    1. Giving to Charity
    2. Tithing
  9. Close & Amen
    1. Thanks & Praise

Poem that I wrote using the format from above.  It’s called my daily Prayer:
