Why “Gods Might Version” (GMV)

Gods Might Version (GMV) used the World English Version (WEB) as its primary resource.  This was done because of accuracy to the original Bible’s and because of copyright permissions.

However, as stated below in the official WEB website, if any of the structure is changed, WEB’s copyright requires a different name to be used.  Thus, GMV (Gods Might Version).

The World English Bible (WEB) FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

Updated 14 September 2022

May I use the World English Bible in my book/tract/web site?

Yes, you may use any portion or all of the World English Bible in your book, tract, web site, electronic publication, or whatever.

  • All we ask is that if you change the actual text or punctuation of the World English Bible that you not call it the World English Bible any more. (This is a condition of our trademark use, not to restrict your freedom, but to avoid confusion.)

May I change or translate the World English Bible?

Because the World English Bible is in the Public Domain, you may change it without breaking any human laws, for example to update the wording but keep the same meaning, or to translate it to another language or another dialect of English.

  • Because “World English Bible” is a TradeMark, you may not call it the “World English Bible” any more if you do change any of the text or punctuation.
